PostHeaderIcon General Information

generalinfoThis area provides information on Competition, Costuming, Dance Wear Suppliers, Exams, Fee Payment, General Guidelines, Solos and Duos, and Workshops.

PostHeaderIcon Workshops

I encourage all dancers to attend out-of-town workshops. The course or workshop must be authorized by myself. Local workshops may also be held whenever arrangements can be made. These are planned to expand your child’s awareness of this art form. This is also a great opportunity for your child to work with somebody other than myself. It teaches them to take constructive criticism and use it to develop and improve their dance potential. ADAPT in-studio workshops are mandatory for all exam students.

PostHeaderIcon Solos and Duos

Students that have proven to be committed, hardworking, and a good level of dance may wish to perform a solo or duo in competition.

These students must also be exam students, have reliable attendance in their weekly classes and are showing good sportsmanship to other dancers within the studio and at events outside the studio. Solos/duos can be performed at all competitions. Solos & Duos will not be performed at our yearend recital in June. Because solos/duos require private lessons, extra costs are involved. In addition there will be extra costs for entry fees and costuming. Final decision on all solos and duos is at the discretion of Miss Desire’. If you child is interested in performing a solo and/or duo, please let Miss Desire’ know at registration.

· Solo Fees-$125.00

· Duo Fees-$250.00 ($125.00/student)

· Trio Fees - $375.00 ($125.00/student)

Approx. 4-5 hrs.

PostHeaderIcon General Guidelines

Attendance:
Please ensure regular attendance of your child at dancing. Missed classes result in your child falling behind and lowering the productivity of the class as a whole. If you child must miss dancing please call the studio at 781-4817 or email Miss Desire at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it Once choreography begins in competition groups, two absenses from class will be accepted.  If the number of missed classes exceeds two, a dancer may be pulled from some or all of that competiton piece.

Please be punctual for all classes and rehearsals.

Class Etiquette:
NO GUM OR CANDY IN CLASS.
NO JEWELERY IN CLASS.
Proper dance attire must be worn to all classes.

Dress & Hair Requirements:
Long hair must be pulled back into a high ponytail or bun. (A bun is mandatory for all ballet and technique classes.) Short hair must be neat and off the face. Please secure hair to ensure it stays in place for the entire class. Absolutely NO bangs for Pre Junior levels and up.  NO EXCEPTIONS!

Proper dance attire is a must!! - Just a reminder that we will be implementing a "BODYSUIT & TIGHTS ONLY" for classes this year.  As I know there are a lot of students that have Triple Flip, Lulu and One Tooth clothing, students will be allowed to wear that such clothing on designated days. All exam students will require a black bodysuit & suntan tights. Pre Beginner to Junior levels may wear any color of bodysuit and tights for class (junior levels will be asked to wear a black bodysuit & suntan tights to class closer to exams and competition).  Pre Intermediate levels and up will require a black bodysuit & suntan tights (black bootie shorts may be worn in class). Ballet skirts (wrap skirts) may be worn for ballet classes. There will be NO EXCEPTIONS to this rule!!

Improper dance attire and hair will NOT be tolerated and may result in your child being sent home if this problem persists.
