Jazz dance is a dynamic and ever changing dance form always open to snapping up new ideas and soaking up the latest cultural styles. It is a blend of two movements; folk dance of Africa, North and South America and Europe and the theatre dance developed from modern, ballet, and ethnic dance. Today Jazz dance is still in a state of growth and change as it continues to mirror modern-day society. It moves with our ever-changing society and eagerly incorporates new challenges in music, movement, and thought. Jazz dance customs will continue to flourish and expand as Jazz teachers, choreographers, students, and enthusiasts embrace this art form and pass it onto upcoming generations with enthusiasm. Jazz class will include warm-up, barre, stretching, isolations, and across the floor jumps, turns, and combinations.
