Lyrical dance embraces the components of Ballet, Jazz, and Modern. It uses the lyrics of a song and the feelings from your heart and body to make the movements come to life. Like Jazz it is a mélange of styles while it’s foundation is in Ballet and Technique. Strong ballet technique is necessary for this dance style. We recommend students taking lyrical should have previous ballet training as well as continuing ballet class in addition to the Lyrical class. Lyrical includes barre, center, and across the floor work.
